Services for Sunday the 17th March (The fifth Sunday in Lent)

Warrnambool 9.00am Service of the Word

Hawkesdale 9.00am Service of the Word

Ayrford 11.30am Service with Holy Communion

"Notes on the throw away society" is the theme of this Sunday's sermon in Warrnambool, based on Philippians 3:7,8 (taken from the second reading for the day).  We are pretty good at deciding what is to be kept and what is to be thrown away when it comes to everyday items.  We are not, for example, going to take the sausages purchased at the supermarket and thrown them in the bin and place the wrapping in which the sausages came on the barbecue! If you are having a spring clean, however, it can sometimes be a bit trickier, because opinions vary as to which items should be kept and which ones thrown away.  Things become even more complicated when you think about life's values and philosophies and beliefs. How do you decide what is of value in these areas and what can confidently be discarded? The Apostle Paul gives some good advice.
